Soak in your own Home-Spa.

There is nothing more rejuvenating than going to a Spa for some pampering and distressing.

But if you are lazy or don't want to spend extra money every time, a bit of imagination and effort invested goes a long way in recreating that Spa feeling right in the four walls of your home sweet home.

Basic requirements for a Home spa:

1) Some aromatherapy or essential oils:

Popular oils are tea tree, lavender, lemon, eucalyptus, vanilla, jasmine and peppermint oils. These are easily available at most online or aroma shops from INR 50 onwards, so they are easy on the pocket too.

2) A set of clean towels:

These can be of different sizes depending on your need. Preferably hand towel size for general use. These can also double up as heated head wraps.

3) Scented candles:

They add to the ambience and diffuse healing aroma into the air. Some regular candles might also be required if it is dark in your bathroom.

4) A diffuser if available, for adding aroma to your environment:

A diffuser serves to lift the mood and promotes relaxation. It is helpful in healing stress and certain common everyday problems such as body aches/pains, sinus issues, in strengthening the immunity and also in calming the nerves.

5) Soft and soothing music, preferably instrumental to calm your frayed nerves.

6) Bath oils, bath crystals and rose petals:

These can be added to your bath water. Bath oils can be the diluted essential oils. Tea tree and Jasmine are good.

7) Fresh flowers plus coloured crystals or fengshui healing stones:

Crystals are easily available in most fengshui shops. Fresh flowers help to destress you.
Local lady masseurs are available in most localities at reasonable rates.

A professional massage followed by a relaxing soak in your very own home-spa can really melt the tiredness away.

Using diffusers as a part of Aromatherapy, is popular in most homes nowadays.

Special oils are distilled from the popular and fragrant flowers and mixed with some carrier oil (mainly olive oil) in a bottle. These are known as 'essential oils'. Concentrated oils maybe too strong for some people, hence the need to dilute.

A few drops of oil are poured in the diffuser and a candle is lit which diffuses the oil into the nearby surroundings.

Thus a diffuser serves to lift the mood and promotes relaxation.

It is helpful in healing stress and certain common everyday problems such as body aches/pains, sinus issues, in strengthening the immunity and also in calming the nerves.
Some popular oils are eucalyptus oil, peppermint oil, almond oil, lemon oil and tea tree oil which are used in a diffuser for Aromatherapy.

The diffuser when on, needs to be kept away from pets and children because of the oil burning inside.

It is not meant to be swallowed but inhaling the smell stimulates the hormones and relaxes the brain.
