Tesla Model 3 Electric Car.

This Model 3 is a miniature model of the Model S Sedan series. Still it costs less than half of Tesla’s previous car models.

When fully charged the car promises a range of 215 miles or 340 kilometers per charge. This is currently double the range of similar cars in Tesla’s competition. For a fully electric car 215 miles is a very good range!

The initial launch saw 198,000 people putting in a deposit for the car which surprised even the Tesla CEO Elon Musk. According to Musk, this is well over their earlier expectations.

The 4 door, all electric car has the rear glass sweeping right up to the roof. This gives it a panoramic view which makes it stand out from the rest of the cars in the same category.

Tesla has stated that it already has 325,000 preorders for the Model 3 Electric Car.
Delivery starts only towards 2017. But people are still willing to wait for this Baby Tesla.

This happens to promote Tesla from a one-time niche car player into a fully-fledged mass auto maker.

  • The dashboard of the Model 3 Electric Car has been pushed forward to make a lot more legroom for the passengers.
  • Incidentally the dashboard is a touchscreen one and the sleek car is still a comfortable five seater.
  • The lithium ion battery propels the Tesla to up to 100 km/h in less than 6 seconds.
  • There are semi-autonomous driving features such as the automatic lane changing and lane keeping.
No wonder people are battling longlines to book this car from Hong Kong to USA outside most of Tesla’s stores.

The starting price for the Tesla Model 3 Electric Car is $35000 but US federal and state subsidies could bring in further discounts.

However, the US tax credit ceases to exist after a car touches 200,000 in sales. So ironically Tesla’s growing popularity might jeopardize the discount.
